Community Roots

Tumble Brook’s members have a long-standing reach into the community as patrons of the arts, champions for charity, and as investors in educational opportunities in the Greater Hartford area. From the historic one-mile stretch of Simsbury Road grew an agricultural community, which includes the 4-H Education Center at Auerfarm, started as dairy farms, a plant nursery and a large orchard. This growing industry focus became a center of commerce for the county. Out of that grew a social club known as the Touro Club, which was the beginning of Tumble Brook Country Club.
